Rhode Island Rebates and Federal Tax Credits

There are two types of financial incentives for heating and cooling upgrades: Rebates and Tax Credits.

Rebates are administered by the State of RI from two sources: Clean Heat Rhode Island and Rhode Island Energy. Rebate details are shown below. Rebate amounts are calculated using a formula and are based on the number of tons of new (eligible) equipment installed. We can estimate the approximate range of the rebate; the final amount is calculated by the rebate provider. Some rebates are also available to businesses. Our rebate specialist can submit your rebate paperwork for you, after your installation is complete and paid in full.

Tax Credits are a federal tax incentive, submitted by the homeowner as part of their annual federal tax filing. A tax credit reduces the amount of tax owed by the homeowner for an existing primary residence.
