A Flexible Solution
The most common HVAC systems are central air conditioners and heat pumps that use ducts to deliver conditioned air throughout a building.
Ductless systems are more flexible than traditional systems, because ductless systems don’t use ductwork. All that’s needed is a small outdoor unit and one or more indoor units, along with access to electricity and a place to mount the units. Ductless systems can be installed in either new or existing construction.
More Affordable
Traditional heating and cooling units can run inefficiently for a number of reasons, costing you money in lost energy. The actual units are larger than a ductless system, also costing you more money overall, because they naturally consume more power. Also, conditioned air can be lost through gaps in the ductwork before it ever reaches its intended destination, illustrating yet another example of lost energy for which you also pay.
Ductless systems are smaller than traditional HVAC systems, which means they use less power. In addition, the temperature-controlled air of a ductless system is delivered directly into a room instead of throughout an entire building. This means that you don’t heat or cool rooms that aren’t occupied. Translation: less needed power, less money spent.
Improved Indoor Air Quality
Did you know the quality of indoor air is typically lower than that of outdoor air? Ductwork collects dust, allergens, bacteria, as well as many other contaminants. Traditional forced air systems blow air directly through these contaminants and consequently throughout your house.
Ductless systems offer multi-stage filtration that greatly reduces this type of air contamination and creates a healthier indoor environment.
Easy to Install
Ducted systems can take several weeks to install. They interrupt daily life in the home and can take up valuable real estate due to their size.
Conversely, ductless systems can be installed in as little as a day, depending on the number of units required. The pipes required for the systems only dictate a three-inch hole that makes them easier to integrate into a building.

“We recently had a mini ductless system installed and it was a better experience than we had envisioned. Our expectations were really high to begin with, but they outperformed those by a mile!! Anthony was just phenomenal, a very hard worker, a pleasant individual and so easy to work with. He never stops! He arrives early and does not leave until he has completed his task each day and boy, was it a lot of work. I was astonished at how neat and careful he was, laying tarps down and making sure he did not knock into anything. At the end of the day everything was picked up and the rooms looked as neat as a pin. You would never know anyone had been working in my house. He is also a great guy who relates to people and will take time for a question or just to chat for a minute (but then immediately back to work!!). The completed work was done perfectly, as Anthony paid great attention to detail and we are thrilled with the entire proceedure. My husband could not find one thing to critique and he is picky, so that means Anthony did a phenomenal job. Can't wait to really use the system this summer!! “Last week a new ductless mini split system was installed in four rooms of my home. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, work ethic and degree of courtesy I experienced while the system was being installed over a period of 5 days. Joe from the Sales division was extremely versed in his products and able to answer every question I posed. His approach was low key and his follow up ensured the project would go smoothly. I could contact him or Kristy at any time and my calls were returned promptly.
Lenny of the Operations division was very familiar with the products and system, and did a great job of explaining the big picture, but also in addressing many small details before I could even ask about them. He was flexible in making a few changes that created more work for the installers but would result in a better install.
Installers Ethan and Jack spent 5 days here. Throughout their stay they were extremely personable, polite, and made every effort to keep the parts of the house they were working in picked up. Instantly likeable and most trust worthy, both of them quickly became like members of the family. They worked steadily from the minute they arrived until the end of each day, always keeping me informed of their arrivals and departures. They provided a briefing on each part of the system as they were installing, and answered any question promptly and informatively. They were also flawless in keeping the pet gates closed and not tracking any dirt into the house, etc.
I would recommend this company and these installers without reservation of any kind. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. I did originally get another company’s estimate, which was actually a bit lower. But I am SO glad I decided to go with Ocean State Air Solutions – a top notch professional service company from top to bottom!

“The entire experience I had with OSAS, was top notch. Joe was quick to call and set up my initial appointment; he then followed up within a day with the quote. Joe also checked in when the guys showed up and when they were finished. Jane and Amber communicated throughout the process about installation days and if I needed anything else. For feedback, I could not be more pleased with the whole process – everyone was completely professional and polite. They arrived on time, continuously worked throughout the day, explaining what they were doing and answering my numerous questions. Whenever maintenance is due, if possible, I’d like Noah to do the maintenance.
Now the technology challenged me tries to learn how everything operates. Noah was very patient, explaining how the system operates, but for those challenged by technology, it’s a work in progress. Seems the easiest thing to do is either increase or decrease the temperature, as needed. Various modes, blades, angles, symbols? I’m sure Noah is shaking his head; I told him I was putting him on speed dial. 😊

“Hello Craig, Your staff gave me your email address so that I could tell you how happy we are with the work that Vinnie, Anthony – and some others whose names I didn’t catch — completed last week, when they installed our ductless AC during some really sweltering, bug-filled days, working their buns off to get everything done according to plan.
Last week’s weather was so hot and humid, it was the reason we needed the mini splits, but the ceiling location of the one in the master bedroom was kind of a miracle – and wow – those guys were just amazing in how they worked out a Rubic’s Cube of an installation – through the attic to the ceiling then through my walk-in closet (where they carefully removed all the boxes, clothes, etc that had drifted in there over the past seven years!) and only then to the outside – just amazing!
I’m writing to you because I wanted to express my happiness with the finished AC and because I’m not a big fan of writing anything on google or yelp.
But you need to know those guys – even the guys from Town Electric who were sweating right alongside your team – were polite, cleaned up every little bit, wore those things over their shoes when inside the house – spectacular.
