Rhode Island Rebates and Federal Tax Credits

As part of our complimentary consultation and estimating process, Ocean State Air will identify the best rebates for you and provide information about current federal tax credit opportunities.

There are two types of financial incentives for heating and cooling upgrades: Rebates and Tax Credits.

Rebates are administered by the State of RI from two sources: Clean Heat Rhode Island and Rhode Island Energy. Rebate details are shown below. Rebate amounts are calculated using a formula and are based on the number of tons of new (eligible) equipment installed. We can estimate the approximate range of the rebate; the final amount is calculated by the rebate provider. Some rebates are also available to businesses. Our rebate specialist can submit your rebate paperwork for you, after your installation is complete and paid in full.

Tax Credits are a federal tax incentive, submitted by the homeowner as part of their annual federal tax filing. A tax credit reduces the amount of tax owed by the homeowner for an existing primary residence. Learn more about federal tax credits here (link to second page, currently titled ‘Inflation Reduction Act,’ to be renamed ‘Federal Tax Credits’).

In 2023 alone, we processed over $285,000 in customer rebates and provided information on a variety of federal tax credits to our customers!

Rebates for Heating and Cooling Equipment

Read about rebates from Clean Heat Rhode Island and Rhode Island Energy below. Many homeowners are eligible for multiple rebates! Remember, we will help identify the best rebates for you.

Electric heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, all in one. They are cleaner and less expensive to operate and maintain than fossil fuel heating systems. They emit zero carbon emissions, contribute to improved air quality, and operate quietly. Save money with rebates on high-efficiency electric heat pump technology.
